Based in Toronto, Zale practices as an eye surgeon specializing in cataract surgery, refractive procedures, and corneal transplantation. He is the author of Preconceived: Challenging the Preconceptions in Our Lives and the creator and host of Preconceived and Blind Spot: The Eye Doctor's Podcast. He also spent four seasons as a member of the medical team on the CBS television series Survivor.
When he's not in the operating room or behind a microphone, Zale lives in Toronto with his wife and two children, and can occasionally be found fronting a cover band.
